Q&A

What exactly is Ventify? How is it used? Where can you buy it? There are probably many questions about Ventify, and below are all the answers! If you have any questions that are not covered below, feel free to contact us!

What is Ventify used for?

Ventify is used as an aid against ballooning. The valve is mounted by the user themself on their ostomy bag, before the bag is attached to the body. When the bag is filled with gas, the user can easily empty the bag of gas manually by manually turning the valve.

How is Ventify mounted?

The user cuts a hole in the ostomy bag according to the instructions, and clicks the two provided parts together on each side of the bag. Assembly instructions can be found here.

Which ostomy bags is Ventify suitable for?

Ventify can be mounted on ostomy bags for ileo- and colostomy. Ventify is however not recommended for bags with double layers of plastic, large built-in filters, or less than 4 cm of space between the ostomy hole and the edge, as this affects the mounting of the valve.

When is Ventify used?

Use Ventify for occasions when you know you will get a lot of gas, for example during daily problems, when you are going to eat gas-forming food, or before a night out!

How is Ventify used?

Use Ventify when your ostomy bag is gas-filled. Check that the contents of the bag is not against the valve hole by gently rubbing against the valve through the bag.

Turn the knob 80 ° counterclockwise (to the right from your point of view). Lightly press the bag to release gas. NOTE, do not press too hard as this may cause leakage!

Close the valve carefully after use. The knob should then be perpendicular to the arrow at the top of the valve edge. Be careful not to overdo it when opening or closing.
